If you've found your way to Pretty & Painful, chances are you've loved deeply, lost deeply, or you're somewhere in between — trying to figure out how to carry both joy and heartbreak at the same time.
I know that feeling.
my story
For years, I built a life around showing up when people needed help. I've served in emergency services, worked in public safety, and spent countless hours answering calls on some of the hardest days of people's lives. Those experiences taught me that behind every emergency is a person with a story, and behind every story is a heart that deserves compassion.
But long before I was helping others through their hardest moments, I was learning how to navigate my own.
Life hasn't always looked the way I imagined. I've experienced loss that changed me, seasons that tested my faith, relationships that stretched me, and moments when I had to decide whether I would let pain define me or refine me. Healing hasn't been quick, tidy, or linear — but it has been real.
I'm also a mom to an incredible daughter who reminds me every day to keep choosing hope, laughter, and grace, even when life feels heavy.
why this exists
That's why I created Pretty & Painful.
This isn't just a podcast. It's a place for honest conversations about grief, healing, faith, motherhood, resilience, and becoming the person you were meant to be — even after life knocks the wind out of you. It's a reminder that you don't have to have all the answers to keep moving forward.
Around here, you'll also find journal entries, recipes, encouragement, reflections from everyday life, and the little things that make a house feel like home and a heart feel seen. I believe healing happens in ordinary moments just as much as extraordinary ones.
