The Peanut Butter Cookies
These are the peanut butter cookies our family will probably talk about forever. The ones that have sat beside countless cups of coffee, sparked endless conversations, and somehow always found their way to the table when we were together. We’ve cried over these cookies, laughed over these cookies, and even sang “Baby Blue” to Grandpa while sharing them. Every bite carries a memory, every batch feels like home, and every crumb reminds us that love has a way of living on through the recipes we’re lucky enough to keep making. ❤️

the story behind it
Some recipes become family favorites. This one became part of our story.
These are the peanut butter cookies my grandpa loved—the kind he could’ve eaten every single day without ever getting tired of them. We made them together, shared them over hot cups of coffee, and somehow they always found their way into the middle of our conversations. They weren’t just dessert; they were time spent together.
For years, I thought this recipe had been lost. It wasn’t until after my Aunt Judi passed away that I found the handwritten family recipe tucked away. Holding that worn piece of paper felt like finding a little piece of them again. I realized these weren’t just the cookies Grandpa loved while he could—they were part of the memories he left behind.
We laughed over these cookies. We cried over these cookies. We even sang “Baby Blue” to Grandpa while eating them, remembering the life he lived and the love he gave so freely.
Every time I bake a batch, my kitchen smells like home. It reminds me that the people we love never really leave us—they live on in the stories we tell, the songs we sing, and the recipes we refuse to let disappear.
This recipe brings my ugly tears every single time. And honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way. ❤️
